Made by Fender’s top Master Builders for the NAMM 2020 prestige master bass show. One of 12 unique pieces made for that year this bass is made by:
 
Select 2 piece Alder Body with Black Binding with a an NOS Urethane Finish;


Quartersawn Maple Neck with '51 P-Bass "U" Back-Shap and a 9.5” Radius.


20 Vintage Frets, 1-Ply Black Phenolic Pickguard, 

RSD Deluxe Bass Bridge;
, Vintage Style '55 P-Bass Tuning Machines 

and a Curtis Novak Bi-Sonic Pickup

Hand-painted by artist 
Sarah Gallenberger and with custom inlays from Master Builder Ron Thorn. 
The
 Atomic Bass features a Telecaster-style headstock and a slab Precision Bass body
- reminiscent of the original 1951 P Bass. 
Finished in an NOS urethane finish
 that helps the design getting a three-dimensional feel. 
Fitted with a Curtis Novak Bi-Sonic pickup for even more punch.

Ron Thorn brings decades
of expertise in guitar luthiery, namely inlay work, to the Fender Custom Shop.
Thorn’s relationship with the Fender Custom Shop team stems from his wildly
successful inlay business, Thorn has been the sole inlay provider
for the Fender Custom Shop since the mid-90s. 
 
This instrument is as new and has never been used.
