2006 Martin D 45 Koa. Very rare and stunning Martin D45 Koa, introduced at NAMM on the summer of 2006. 44 produced on the first year and only 55 were produced in total between 2006 and 2008. There were also 3 prototypes built in 2005. Highly flamed Koa bound back and sides body bound in ivoroid with 45 style inlays. Sitka spruce top and sitka back braces.

Low profile slim taper profile mahogany neck with an ivoroid bound Ebony fingerboard. The nut width is 43mm and the overall scale length is 645mm.
Solid diamond volute, square tapered headstock with an East Indian rosewood head plate. 16” fingerboard radius and standard frets.
The frets do show very minimal wear on the first/second fret G string.
45 Style inlays and abalone position markers.
This guitar weighs 1.970 Kg or 4.34 Lb. These dreadnought guitars make good use of the sweet, bright and rich character of this lovely Hawaiian Koa, it combines beautifully giving the dreadnought shape guitar a more mid focused balance. Some models had a fishman pickup fitted at the factory some did not.
This one is one that never had a pickup fitted and still retains the classic bone pin/strap button at the end. In stunning barely played at home condition, it shows no sign of wear beside the aforementioned frets. No scratches or dings.
The guitar still had the original strings on when it came in, unfortunately after almost 20 years they were gone and had to be replaced. Very good sound and stunning looks for Martin’s top model in a limited edition Koa. Grab it while you can.
