Here we have a stunning early/mid 2000’s Japanese handmade D’angelico New Yorker NYL-5. This model is in the more sought after natural finish and it is in stunning condition throughout. This is a Japanese instrument made to the highest build quality using the finest components and not one of the cheaper Korean made. Label Signed by Master Luthier Hidesato Shiino of the Terada workshop near Nagoya, Japan. These are not longer being made and rarley come up for sale, the production in Japan stopped in 2005. 7 ply double bound Flamed Maple New Yorker style 17” single cutaway body and bound F-Holes. Solid Bookmatched carved and X-Braced German Spruce Top. Ivory multi-ply bound, Gentle C profile maple neck with 22 medium jumbo frets Ebony fingerboard. Mother of Pearl Slashed-Block Inlays. 25.5" Scale length and 1 11/16” nut width. New Yorker Stair-step Quintuple bound tortoise Art Deco pickguard. Compensated/carved Ebony bridge. Gold hardware, grover super rotomatic imperials tuners and Gold New Yorker Style Stairstep Tailpiece. Other appointments on this instruments are: Chrysler Building Truss Rod Cover, Mother of Pearl D'Angelico Logo and New Yorker Inlays on Headstock as well as a Rosewood Overlay with Mother of Pearl Diamond Inlay on Back of Headstock. The electrics are a Single Kent Armstrong Johnny Smith Style Humbucking Floating Pickup Mounted on Pickguard with 1 volume, 1 Tone Control Mounted on Pickguard. This guitar weighs 3Kg or 6.63Lb. Comes with the Original Brown Faux Alligator Deluxe Arched D’Angelico Logo Plush Hardshell case. This is well used and has a fair few stickers on it. This guitar is an incredible player and does put to shame many other guitars of these type that costs 3-4 times as much.
