Fantastic first year Charvel by Jackson model 6HSS. These guitars were the top of the line and this is a Black Cherry finish model.Introduced in 1986 these were the first year for the Japanese made Charvel Model series which were made in the Chushin Gakki Factory in Nagano Japan. Poplar body with a bound Maple Neck through body. The neck profile in the first year models seem to be slightly thicker than later models which according to internet sources were slimmed down a bit.Compound radius Rosewood fingerboard 12”-16” with 24 Jumbo frets and shark-fin MOP inlays. The nut width is 1 11/16”, 43mm approximately and the overall scale length is 25.5” or 648mm. HSS pickup configuration, including a Jackson J-50BC humbucker (bridge) and Jackson J-200 stacked single coils for middle and neck position.The active electronics powered by the Jackson JE-1200 circuit, which includes a mid-boost knob and an individual on/off toggles for each pickup.These first year models featured a Kahler 2300 Pro Vibrato system which was changed to a Jackson Floyd Rose in 1987. Black hardware, pickup covers, knobs, switches and Jackson/Gotoh tuners. This guitar weighs 8.76Lb or 3.975Kg.Incredible player, great sounding and excellent shredder for the fast players out there. Now highly regarded among both collectors and players these 80s superstrats rarely come up for sale. This one is in great condition overall, it does show some wear but nothing major. Recently set up and fret dressed it is smooth and slinky to the touch.
