1983 Gibson Spirit 2 Antique Sunburst with Tim Shaw's double white pick ups. These guitars were only produced between 1982 and 1986 and are quite rare. This is the Humbucker and bound version 2. Bound double cut mahogany body with a figured maple top. 43mm nut width 60s profile mahogany neck with a 12” radius rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays. The frets are in good shape and have minimal sign of pitting/wear. The pickups are Gibson Pat Numbers / Tim Shaw in double white with no covers. Two volume controls, one tone control, and one Les Paul style Rhythm/Treble switch. The machine heads have been changed to a set os Schaller at some point in time. In good overall condition beside a few small dings and minor marks.
The lacquer at the back of the neck has been chipping as it tends to do on some guitars from this period. This can be smoothed out easily and it is not much of a problem beside the aesthetics of it. The guitar weighs 7.61Lb or 3.45Kg. Great player and very nice tone!! Comes with a Gibson chainsaw hard case.
