1979 Fender Stratocaster International series. First year of the international series, which stopped 1982. This is the hardtail model finished in Capri Orange. Neck and body serial dates are 1979, most likely late 1979 as there is also a body label dated Jan 8th 1980. The pots that can be dated do date 9th week of 1980 which is probably when the guitar was finally assembled. Usual Strat configuration, SSS on a 5 way toggle switch. Classic late 70s Oval C profile maple neck with a 7.25” radius rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot inlays. Large 70s CBS Headstock with a bullet truss-rod, F Stamped Fender Tuners and 3 point bolt on neck. The frets are in good shape, show minimal sign of wear (it must have had a fret dress not long ago) and there is plenty for future fret dresses too. The nut width is 40mm. The guitar weighs 4.27Kg or 9.41Lb. The guitar has a natural and real Roadworn look and feel, there is a few small dings, some playing wear and a buckle rash patch. (See images). Very good feel and playability. Comes with the original Fender rectangular hardshell case.
