This is a very rare Gibson Les Paul Artisan three pick up in Walnut brown. There were less than fifteen hundred made in 1977 and it only ran for around three years. For all intents and purposes this is a very high spec and elaborate Les Paul custom. It has gold hardware and black plastic parts. It has a three piece sandwich construction with a carved maple top and three body with a three piece maple neck. The neck features the Hearts and flowers neck inlay which was unique to this guitar at the time. These guitars are from the era when they tended to weigh more than previous years. This one does weigh in at 11.21 Lb or 5.085 Kg. The nut width is 44 mm. Pick ups are Gibson series seven with resin backing and a Super Humbucker in the middle position. The pots are dated from the 46th week of 1976, shipped in 1977. Although is is a weighty guitar it is very playable and the frets are in very good over all condition. There is one small indentation the back of the guitar (see photo) but otherwise it is very clean. The guitar does come with a type one Gibson Protector case (chainsaw) also in very good condition
