1974 GIBSON L6 RARE BURGUNDY WINE FINISH - MIDNIGHT SPECIAL. Here’s a really rare Burgundy wine finish Gibson L6. Also known as the midnight special it was made in the Kalamazoo Michigan plant.
Less than forty were produced in this colour, the majority being Natural maple or Cherry Sunburst. The guitar has the smooth covered Bill Lawrence collaboration style pick ups. (No visible pole pieces showing) Surprisingly good sounding pickups. Keith Richards, Al De Meola, Carlos Santana, Paul Stanley from Kiss were an early pioneers of the L6 family guitars. In later years Johnny Burrell from Razorlight and many other Indie bands used them as they were way more affordable than the equivalent Les Pauls of the period. Other features include a three piece maple neck with a slab Maple fingerboard. The tuners are upgraded retrofit Kluson style. String through body and Harmonica style bridge. The guitar does show light playing ware for it age but the overall condition is good. The guitar weighs in at 3.470 Kg or 7.65 Lb. Nut width is 40mm.
Comes with a hardshell case.
