1971 GIBSON SG STANDARD - CHERRY WITH MAESTRO VIBROLA.
We are pleased to offer for sale this 1971 SG standard in very nice original condition. Fitted with a Maestro Vibrola, all hardware untarnished.Mahogany body, mahogany neck with small volute, 12” radius rosewood fingerboard with Trapezoid inlays.In very good condition beside a few tiny dings, nothing of any significance.A few slight cracks near the screw holes on the pic guard that radiate out to the edge of the guard, top bout edge of pickguard has a crack on the corner as can be seen from the pics. Back of the neck has a few areas of wear, mainly between the first and fifth frets and couple more dings further up the neck.As you’d expect it has been refretted at some point over the years, some slight pitting but good to go for a while. Strangely there is a very slight removal of some wood in the three pick up cavity, again can be seen in the pictures.A fifty pence piece sized area of buckle wear is visible on the back of the body.Patent number pick ups with untouched solder on the covers.Pots dated late ’70’s and show a couple of areas of resolder. This guitar weighs 8.6Lb or 3.9Kg. Comes with the original rectangular case.
