1964 Rickenbacker 4001 bass Fireglo ex Paul Weller collection. 4001S on these run were produced from 1961 to 1964. This bass was part of Paul Weller's personal Collection and it was sold at an auction. It does come with studio photos and paperwork. Featuring a neck through construction, a full body width and a 20 fret rosewood fingerboard with triangle inlays this is the bass the everyone points to when talking about a Ricky 4001.
Cresting wave style checkered bound maple body, white pickguard, and cresting wave peghead. Toaster pickup at the neck and a horse shoe at the bridge these two single coil pickups do offer a nice variation of tonal changes with the use of the available 2 x volume control and 2 x tone controls on a 3 way toggle switch.This bass weighs 9.35Lb or 4.24Kg. In great overall condition for the age, a few small dings and marks, nothing major, no breaks or repairs. (Please refer to the photos). Comes with the original silver case.
