1962 GIBSON L5 CES SUNBURST. Here is an absolute dream of a guitar, a 1962 L5 in Sunburst. One of only 30 made that year. All original, sharp Florentine cutaway.
Multi-ply bound Solid Maple back and sides with a solid carved spruce top.
60s slim taper 3 piece flamed maple neck with a multi-ply bound Ebony fingerboard and MOP block inlays. Multi-ply bound headstock with floral inlay
The guitar has had a professional refret at some stage and the frets do look and feel great with minimal to no wear on the first 3.
Gold L5 engraved tail piece, ABR1 bridge on floating rosewood base, Kluson Sealfast tuners and pickup covers.
The gold hardware is slightly tarnished as to be expected from an over sixty year old guitar. Stock Gibson Patent Applied For (PAF) Humbuckers.
The pickup covers never came off and look totally unmolested.
The pickups from the jack O/P read 7.82KΩ at the bridge and 7.35KΩ at the neck.
The pickup rings are original and have no splits. 2xVolume 2xTone controls on a 3 way toggle switch. Gold bonnet reflector knobs and white toggle switch tip.
Multi-ply bound tortoiseshell pickguard. Plays beautifully, flat through the back of the neck slim sixties profile bound neck. Neck width is 42mm at the nut and weighs 3.3 kgs or 7.29 pounds. Comes with the original brown, pink lined Lifton case which is in great condition.
