1959 Gibson EB 2 . Bass with original brown case.
This has to be one of the finest examples we have ever had of this Gibson EB2 in natural finish. One of only sixty made in natural body finish.
Double bound maple body. Mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays. The bass comes with the original black plastic pickup and Banjo style tuners. 
Two of the tuner tips do look different to the other two. One side is the traditional looking 50’s style pearl. And the other is more of a solid white plastic.
The hardware and electrics are all factory.
The thing that sets this bass apart is the amazing condition throughout. 
The bass has very fine weather checking which we could not easily show in the photographs. The neck has a very playable ’59 style profile through the back with an unbound fingerboard. Frets are in excellent condition also. The nut width is 43.25 mm. It weighs 4 Kg or 9Lb. The instrument does come with an original brown Lifton case that is also in excellent condition.
